Colonel Philip Sherwood, an International Fellow from The United Kingdom, was talking to one of our members when the Colonel spotted a maroon and blue striped tie worn by a tall gentleman across the room: it was a British Army Royal Engineers’ tie.
Colonel Sherwood walked across the room and introduced himself to the gentleman wearing the tie. He was none other than F. Heywood Marsh, a member of our Association.Mr. Marsh is a World War II veteran of the Royal Engineers, British Army. After introductions, Colonel Sherwood opened his tunic to reveal his Royal Engineers’ belt, once again demonstrating the special relationship the United States and the United Kingdom have across a crowded room.
